I write extensively about the Walmart superchain for NewsBreak. Of late, most of my articles have detailed the recent spate of upcoming store closures, as well as those of pick-up and delivery centers.

Now comes word that amidst these closings is a sweeping change coming to Walmart locations throughout the U.S.

Let us explore further.

U.S. Shopping Malls, 2023

According to’s March 19th report, “Walmart is Updating 1,000 Stores Into a New Store of Tomorrow,” substantive improvements are in store for the superchain’s customers.

As excerpted from the report: Walmart has announced a $130 million plan to roll out what is being called the store of tomorrow. Now according to The Sun, 1,000 stores have been updated already or are being updated to this new store plan. The goal of these layouts is to modernize Walmart stores not just with the look of it but with how they work to offer a better shopping experience.

Reportedly the remodeled locations will utilize cutting-edge technology, such as AI and robotics, to meet its goals. further states: With the store of tomorrow, Walmart plans to use data analytics and artificial intelligence to improve its shopping experience. Walmart says this new AI will help manage the stores’ inventory and make sure there are enough carts waiting for you when you arrive. Walmart may also be able to offer tailored recommendations, customized offers, and promotions to customers.

This is a developing story. In the event of pertinent updates to this matter, inclusive of progress and official announcements of milestone dates, I will share them here on NewsBreak.

Thank you for reading.
