Introduction
I write extensively about the Golden Corral restaurant chain for NewsBreak. In recent months, most of my articles on the subject have detailed recent location closures due to performance-related issues.
This piece, however, is different as it regards the reopening of a restaurant — located in Richmond, Kentucky — damaged by a fireworks incident over eight months ago.
As to a current national location count, ScrapeHero.com features up-to-date numbers: There are 397 Golden Corral stores in the United States as of February 24, 2023. The state with the most number of Golden Corral locations in the U.S. is Texas, with 55 stores, which is about 14% of all Golden Corral stores in the U.S.
Let us explore further.
Golden Corral, 2023
According to a March 18th report from RichmondRegister.com, entitled “Golden Corral Announces Reopening Date,” the entity had to undergo extensive repairs following the fire damage.
As excerpted from the report: Golden Corral in Richmond will be reopening this week after a prolonged closure. The restaurant announced in a Facebook post on Friday, it will be opening its doors to the public on Thursday, March 16, with regular scheduled hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Golden Corral has been closed since July 4, 2022, after fireworks landed on the roof of the building and caused “considerable” damage.
The company had planned for the restaurant to be rebuilt since the incident. Hours and days of operation are reportedly unchanged; business is set to resume as usual.
