Introduction
Wikipedia features a comprehensive and highly-attributed overview of the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market food chain: Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. is an American discount closeout retailer consisting exclusively of supermarket locations that offer deeply discounted, overstocked, and closeout products from name brand and private label suppliers... Each store has flexibility in its product offerings to serve local tastes and demand. The Read family founded the company in 1946. The formal name is Grocery Outlet Bargain Market.
According to ScrapeHero.com: There are 445 Grocery Outlet retail stores in the United States as of January 25, 2023. The state with the most number of Grocery Outlet locations in the U.S. is California, with 258 retail stores, which is about 58% of all Grocery Outlet retail stores in the U.S.
Now comes word that the company is expanding its national footprint.
Let us explore further.
Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, 2023
According to a report from943ThePoint.com, entitled “Exciting and Rare New Grocery Store is Opening Soon in Monmouth County, NJ,” the new location opened on February 2.
As excerpted from the report: The new Monmouth store is located at 3057 Rt. 35 in Hazlet. The grand opening is Thursday, February 2 and Grocery Outlet is celebrating in a big way. Starting at 8 a.m., the first 100 customers will pick up a Grocery Outlet "Bliss Buck" gift card that could be worth anywhere from $5 to $500. Grocery Outlet Hazlet is also giving away $1,000 in groceries. Enter to win, here. Grocery Outlet stores are franchise operations, and the new Hazlet location is owned and will be operated by a local couple from Keansburg.
WMAR2News.com discussed a Baltimore location opening in 2024: Back in November, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market announced it will open up a store on Milford Mill Road at Liberty Road, here the former Giant was once located... "Because the store is going to be renovated it's going to take some time. The store is 74-years-old and so it's going to take time for the construction to happen and the grocery outlet will come," said Ryan Coleman, the NAACP President Randallstown.
Other locations opened in December of last year, and industry analysts — as a targeted Google search will verify — expect more announcements of new openings in the near-future.
