Introduction
I write extensively about the Chick-fil-A fast food chain on NewsBreak, primarily regarding strategic openings and shutterings of individual restaurants.
In recent weeks, however, another business strategy has surfaced: Remodeling stalwart restaurant locations.
Let us explore.
Chick-fil-A, 2022
According to ScrapeHero.com: There are 2,873 Chick-Fil-A stores in the United States as of November 21, 2022. The state with the most number of Chick-Fil-A locations in the US is Texas, with 466 stores, which is about 16% of all Chick-Fil-A stores in the U.S.
The entity was founded in 1946.
In recent weeks, reports broke of a Boise, Idaho location temporarily closed until November 16th due to remodeling, per IdahoNews.com, and of a Barboursville, West Virginia restaurant that remains closed for the same reason, per WOWKTV.com.
Today, iHeart.com reports “One Georgia Chick-Fil-A Is Getting A $3 Million Remodel.”
As excerpted from the article: The Chick-fil-A Peachtree at Collier is looking forward to a big remodel that will begin in early 2023. According to WSB-TV, it is being torn down entirely and rebuilt from the ground-up with a few new and improved features to accommodate chicken lovers near and far. Among many additions, the updated location will feature an additional drive-thru window that will lessen line wait time and allow for quicker service. This specific Chick-fil-A is often very busy due to its location across from the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
No reopening date has been announced. Further, remodels of additional locations are largely expected by analysts as a targeted Google search will verify.
Conclusion
Chick-fil-A is a financially healthy entity that is utilizing funds to further improve its business. Per Statistica.com, 2021 revenues were substantially improved from the year before — as was expected due to the pandemic outbreak — and 2022 may be the entity’s biggest year yet: Atlanta-based quick service restaurant chain Chick-fil-A reported record revenues in 2021 amounting to 5.8 billion U.S. dollars worldwide, an increase of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars from the previous year. The restaurant chain's revenue reflected a year-over-year growth over the past five years.
Remodeling of older locations is looked upon as a step towards streamlining operations, as well as attracting new customers.
In the event of pertinent updates on the matter, I will share them here on NewsBreak.
