Company locations included in the first phase of new permanent closings are liquidating their inventory. However, not all coupons are accepted at all stores.
This article is based on corporate postings and accredited media reports. Linked information within this article is attributed to the following outlets: Axios.com, BedBathandBeyond.com, and ClosuresBedBathandBeyond.gcs-web.com.
I have written extensively of late on business challenges facing the Bed Bath & Beyond chain for NewsBreak. The company, per recent reports (as excerpted below) is largely agreed to be in survival mode; economic analysts have scrutinited the entity’s continued stock drop and written of the perceived “inevitability” of its demise.
The company itself, meantime, has stated they are in a strategic position, which includes hiring more C-Suite executives and shuttering underperforming locations.
In any event, stores presently being liquidated have adapted different rules per individual locations, and customers have been advised to contact them directly to determine if store coupons will be accepted for that purpose.
Let us explore further.
Bed, Bath & Beyond 2022
According to a September 22 article published by Axios.com, "What to Expect at Bed Bath & Beyond Closing Store Sales," a consumer should contact individual stores to determine whether company coupons will be accepted when purchasing from a liquidation sale.
As excerpted from the article: Liquidation sales are underway at the first wave of 150 closing Bed Bath & Beyond stores — but don't expect to use the retailer's popular coupons during your final shopping trips... Axios randomly called select closing stores and learned the locations were expected to close between December and late January and no longer accept coupons or returns of merchandise.
The article also offers the following tip: When shopping liquidation sales, compare prices to competitor stores to make sure you are getting a good deal.
My article published on September 15, “List of 56 Bed Bath & Beyond Locations Announced Today as Permanently Closing,” listed the initial closing phase of 56 locations from the 150 scheduled to permanently shutter. Note: As of the time of this writing, the remaining lot of approximately 94 locations set to close have not yet been announced.
From the article, which includes information from BedBathandBeyond.com and elaborates on reasons for the company’s recent spate of business challenges: I have written extensively on the beleaguered Bed Bath & Beyond chain for NewsBreak. My last article, entitled “Bed Bath & Beyond Closing Updates Following Suicide of CFO,” detailed repercussions of the company’s recent stock downturn and subsequent suicide of its 52-year-old CFO, Gustavo Arnal, as well as the announcement of 150 as-yet-identified store closures and resignations of several high-level executives. Today, 56 of those stores have been identified.
Click on the link for a listing of those stores, per ClosuresBedBathandBeyond.gcs-web.com. Again, contact locations not yet closed from the list for rules regarding purchases from their inventory sales.
As ever, in the event of further closing announcements, and rules regarding subsequent liquidating proceedings, I will post them here on NewsBreak.
Thank you for reading.
