In the beautiful state of Georgia, several places were put on the list of the most dangerous cities in the entire state.
The Travel Safe website made a list of the most dangerous cities in the state of Georgia. Here's what they were.
At the top of the list was College Park, GA. The population here is almost 15,000 people.
The website says, "A population of only 14,724, but almost 1,700 crimes last year is what makes College Park the most dangerous city in Georgia. The poverty rate in College Park is an astounding 35.7%, which surely lends to the crime rate. It does have good points, such as being listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, home to The Gateway National Arena, and Chick-Fil-A is headquartered there as well."
"Sadly, when compared to other cities, its size, it’s the least safe of any of them. There are 78 crimes per 1,000 people. Last year, there were 278 violent crimes, including 6 murders,12 sexual assaults, and 130 robberies. Property crimes totaled 1,405. The chances of being a victim of crime in College Park is 1 in 18 for property crime," their website also reports.
Other places in Georgia that made the list were Albany, Morrow, Americus, Forest Park, Douglasville, Bainbridge, Warner Robins, Clarkston, and Waynesboro.
Despite being on this list, these Georgia cities are still loved by a lot of people and shouldn't discourage you from visiting as long as the proper precautions are taken!
