New York City has always been known for its great pizza but now it officially has the best pizzeria in the United States according to one ranking.
The ranking was done by 50 Top Pizza, which is an online guide that ranks Italian pizzerias around the world.
They do the ranking annually and this year the best pizzeria in the United States was in NYC. Several other NYC pizzerias also made the Top 50 list.
The pizzeria is Una Pizza Napoletana. The restaurant, located in New York's Lower East Side, was closed for two years during the COVID-19 pandemic but recently re-opened.
Anthony Mangieri, the owner of the restaurant, had this to say in an article, "It’s humbling, and I am filled with gratitude."
He goes on to say, "Every day since opening Una Pizza Napoletana in 1996 I’ve had the dream to pursue this work without compromise. We’ve been so blessed to be able to do this and continue to learn and grow as a pizzeria and as pizza makers."
New York was the city with the most pizzerias in the Top 50 ranking. The other pizzerias were Ribalta, Song' E Napule, Kesté Fulton, Ops, Forcella, Roberta's, San Matteo - Pizzeria e Cucina, and Pasquale Jones.
So, overall, nine NYC pizzerias made the Top 50 Pizzerias in the United States list. Pretty impressive stuff.
Those are the several pizzerias in NYC that have been ranked as some of the best places to get pizza in the United States.
