Entering their Week 13 game against the winless Detroit Lions, the Vikings were looking forward to getting the win and improving their record to 6-6. They sat on the edge of being in the last wildcard spot in the NFC and facing the Lions would be the perfect time for them to gain some momentum.

But, a win is not what the Vikings got. The game went down to the final play, something that's happened to Minnesota a lot this year, and the Lions scored a touchdown to win it.

The outcome came as a shock to a lot of people as the Lions had not won a game in almost one year to the day. Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith took to Twitter, saying: "The @Vikings. Good lord! They give up the game-winning TD as time expires to the then-winless @Lions..."

The shocking loss has some fans speculating that Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer won't be around for much longer. After making the playoffs in 2017 and 2019, the Vikings have had disappointing seasons for the past two years.

The Vikings fell to a 5-7 record and their playoff aspirations took a big hit. They aren't out of the race yet, but losing to the Lions is certainly hard to swallow.

While the Vikings went back to their locker room stunned, the Lions began to celebrate. QB Jared Goff got his first win without Sean McVay as his head coach and the Lions made sure they wouldn't finish the season without a victory.

On the Detroit Lions' official Twitter page, you can find a video of the team, along with head coach Dan Campbell celebrating.

So, did you watch the game this past Sunday? What do you think comes next for the Vikings? Will they fire head coach Mike Zimmer? Comment below and let me know!
