In recent years, the intersection of music and politics has been getting busier. Musicians have always had a close relationship with politics. But now that the country is so polarized, people are beginning to take this exchange much more seriously. From Bob Dylan to Bob Marley, political themes has been replete throughout some of the best music from each generation.
Last night, the tables were turned—it was a politician who was on stage with a band, acting like a rock star. Orlando's very own Maxwell Frost, representing the 10th district in the U.S. House, had some choice words to say about our Governor at a Paramore concert over the weekend.
Frost was invited to join the band on stage and was asked if he had anything to say, to which he replied, "F*ck Ron DeSantis. F*ck Fascism." (those are the "eff" word, for those who were wondering).
Video clips of the incident have been circulation on Twitter since.
Maxwell Frost is the youngest member in the United States Congress and was the first Doomer (a person from Generation Z) elected to congress, after he won his 2022 race by a landslide, defeating Calvin Wimbish by 19%. The Congressman focuses on LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare, and curbing gun violence in America.
Before getting elected, Frost was an organizer and musician. He was the National Organizing Director for March for Our Lives.
