We want to thank the community for their continued support and overwhelming acts of kindness. The support has been tremendous!"
Chief Ron Ambrozaitis, of the Chetek Police Department, released an identical statement on his department's Facebook page.
The officers were shot and killed in a traffic stop by a man who had an open warrant in a divorce case, according to a previous press release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The suspect, Glenn Perry, also died of his wounds, the DOJ said. He had a domestic violence history, according to Wisconsin court records.
