The City of Eau Claire says someone drove around a city soccer field in a vehicle, causing major damage.
In an April 11, 2023, press release, the City of Eau Claire shared photos of the field with large muddy tire tracks through it.
“Over the weekend, a vehicle caused serious damage to the large soccer field at the Eau Claire Soccer Park on Craig Road,” the city wrote.

“This vehicle damage is extensive, costly to repair, and will divert staff from other spring maintenance. Soccer is scheduled to begin in approximately two weeks and this act of vandalism jeopardizes the use of this field. If you saw anything or have any information on who may have caused this damage, please call Eau Claire County Crime Stoppers at 715-874-TIPS (8477). Your tip will be anonymous. Thank you,” the post, on the city’s Facebook page, says. The city labeled its post "vandalism."
"The Eau Claire Soccer Park is the most popular soccer park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. With 9 fields all around, teams of all ages can run around and enjoy a great game of soccer," Visit Eau Claire says on its website.The soccer park is located at 3456 Craig Rd., in Eau Claire.
The City of Eau Claire's Facebook page post was shared more than 30 times in two hours. The city of Eau Claire has a large number of athletic facilities and fields used for various athletic activities, like softball, baseball and soccer.
