A driver of a Tesla vehicle died in a car crash with a Ford F-150 truck, according to Corona, California, police.
On March 28, 2023, at 10:16 p.m., the Corona Police Department “responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Foothill Parkway and Rimpau Avenue,” police wrote in the news release.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Ford F-150 truck had entered the intersection against a red light and collided with a Tesla,” the news release says.
“The driver of the Tesla, a 43- year-old male resident of Corona, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and the passenger, a 45-year-old male resident of Corona, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the F-150, a 26-year-old male resident of Corona, was also transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries,” the police release says.
“The Corona Police Department’s Collision Response Team is investigating the cause of the collision. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor. The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner's Office,” the release notes.
Police did not release the name of the Tesla driver. They also did not release the name of the man who was driving the truck.
