Where can you catch the best fireworks in town? I've got all of the details for you here. There are several fireworks displays throughout the city for the second year in a row.

The fireworks will be launched from each of these specific locations on July 4th: the Akron Executive Airport, Patterson Park Ballfields, Summit Lake and Erie Island.

The four synchronized neighborhood displays will begin at 9:45 p.m.

Sources say A perimeter around the four fireworks sites will be secured, and spectators will not be allowed to park or walk close to the launching grounds. Instead, attendees are encouraged to watch from their own homes or in these neighborhoods from a distance. In addition, spectators can even enjoy a patriotic soundtrack for the program, by simply tuning their radios to WONE 97.5-FM.

This year, fireworks will be launched at 9:45 p.m. from the Akron Executive Airport, Patterson Park Ballfields, Summit Lake and the State Street Parking Deck in downtown Akron. Fireworks will be launched at 9:45 PM.

“Last year, we were forced to get creative and do things differently to allow for social distancing during our fireworks displays,” said Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan in a public briefing. “But we had such a positive response and outpouring of support that we decided to bring the neighborhood displays back again in 2021. Spreading the fireworks out in locations around the city allows many residents to watch the displays from the comfort of their own yard or neighborhood park and still allows us to celebrate as a community with the synchronized soundtrack.”

Unlike past years, Lock 3 will not be hosting the annual Rib, White and Blue Festival this year. Instead, an entirely different event is taking place at Lock 3 on today, July 3rd: a Downtown Block Party. This Downtown Block Party will take place from 2-7 p.m. There will be a food truck round-up, craft beer tasting, inflatables, and live entertainment on the stage, including the Realm of the Reptile show and local band 45 RPM.

As always, it's a good idea to set up early to find the best locations for fireworks. And don't forget the bug spray and chairs. Snacks and water always a good idea to you ensure that you have a great time. Here are the specific locations in Akron for fireworks.
