Arboretum & Nature Center takes you on adventures in July events

HOUSTON, TX — Arboretum & Nature Center holds July events with various activities for everyone to explore! Below are the activities you can join.

1. Native Plant Gardening: Wetland Natives

July 17 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This is an in-person event for ages 12+, with a cost of $20 for members and $35 for non0members (per person).

Experience the beautiful backyard ponds to those awful muddy problem spots under the gutter only at Wetland Natives! You will find the amazing variety and surprising versatility of wetland plants. If possible, you will go on a hike to explore the Arboretum’s wetland plantings. Don't forget to wear walking shoes and dress for the weather!

2. Superfine Summer Picnics

On Saturdays, July 10 – August 28 at 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The event costs $65 for members and $75 for non-members (per picnic basket for 2 - 4 people).

This locally curated experience includes all the picnic supplies you need for a perfect date night or group gathering. All you have to do is show up, enjoy and return the supplies when you’re done.

All picnic baskets include a complimentary twelve-pack of Superfine Seltzers from Saint Arnold Brewing Company (ages 21+ required). You can also choose between a charcuterie or sandwich basket (vegetarian options available), with each basket contains enough food for 2 - 4 people.

3. Yoga on the Lawn

July 18 2021 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Event Lawn.

This is an in-person event and free for Arboretum members but costs $15 for non-members.

Join the third Sunday of each month for a grounding yoga practice surrounded by the beautiful sounds and sights of nature! This class will be a Vinyasa Flow that’s available to all levels, with Carolina Vennie as the instructor.

Please bring your own mat and water. This class is weather-dependent and requires pre-registration to maintain appropriate spacing on the lawn. If the event is canceled due to weather, paid attendees can come to next month’s session with no refunds.
