HOUSTON, TX — Director of Operations and Outreach for Student Housing and Residential Life at the University of Houston, Kenny Mauk, was named Business Practices and Enhancement Director for the Association of College and University Housing Officers International, or ACUHO-I.
During his two-year term service, Kenny will offer his support and leadership for association business practices.
He will also show his competence in areas of occupancy management, market analysis, financing of housing, conference management, crisis management, procurement, and contract services.
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Don Yackley, said, “I am so happy to see Kenny’s experience, expertise, leadership, and service recognized in this way. ACUHO-I is lucky to have him on the Executive Board.”
During his career at ACUHO-I, Kenny has held various leadership positions, including Chair and Educational Chair for the Business Operations Conference and Chair of the Housing Marketing Strategy Committee.
As a regional volunteer with the Southwest Association of College & University Housing Officers, he served as President, Treasurer, Texas State Director, Annual Conference Co-Chair, Diversity and Social Justice Committee Chair and Human Resources Development Chair.
In addition, Kenny has also become a member of the Senior Housing Officer and Mid-Level Steering Committees and the Program Committee, Exhibits, and Display Committee.
Kenny also received one of the highest honors given to a SWACUHO member, the James L. Gibson Exceptional Service Award in 2017.
In 2018, he served the ACUHO-I James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute as a faculty member.
His active participation in regional and national housing organizations and at UH emphasizes his dedication to professional development and improving the lives of other housing professionals.
