Dating in a pandemic can be such a tricky thing to do. In a time of social distancing, closed restaurants and very limited contact, it can be hard to figure out a great date for your significant other. But just because there's a pandemic doesn't mean that your date life or relationships have to suffer. You can be creative and come up with something cool that will impress your date. Here are some date ideas to get you going.
1.) Get your nerd on at trivia
Yes, you probably didn't imagine a trivia night with your significant other but why not? It's a great way to share some laughs, get to know each other even better, geek out and bond through trivia. The great thing about this date is do it anywhere as they offer both virtual and in-person so you can totally hit the town or stay home and participate in your PJs with a popcorn in hand, because why not?
2.) Laugh your bellies off at Improv Houston
What's a date without some laughter? Might as well stay home, right? And at Improv Houston, you can enjoy some really amazing comics. They are currently open and taking all precautions including mandatory masking for the times when people aren't eating or drinking. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and the show starts at $7 for open mic but can go higher when bigger acts are to perform. Make sure to show up with your date early so you have great seating to enjoy all the performances.
3.) Take a (virtual) cooking class together
One of the best cooking classes in Houston is back! Well Done Cooking Classes launched a series of virtual cooking class including experiences like, "Date Night: An evening in Thailand" which is just the perfect date night experience. If you're not into the whole virtual thing, Well Done Cooking Classes is also open for an in-person experience with the right safety precautions taken. 4.) Watch a movie at a drive-in movie theater
Are you missing movie nights right now? Well, wait no further as you can now enjoy a movie date night at Rooftop Cinema Club which used to offer rooftop movies but is closed for now. However, there is a drive in option where you purchase your tickets and you get assigned a designated parking spot and you can either bring your own food or grab snacks from food trucks nearby. 5.) Go roller skating!
There's a cool spot called the Dairy Roller Rink which is open for the public from Tuesday to Sunday with the right safety measures in place. This will make a good date night for couples who love adventure and want to try something different. You can take classes and also bring your friends along for a fun night.
