Park theme lovers and seasonal pass holders must be jumping for joy right now at the news of Universal Studios opening up shop starting today, April 16, 2021. This has been after it was forced to shut its gate from the public for over 12 months, with the last operation being in March 2020.

If you're planning to visit Universal Studios Hollywood, there are certain things to keep in mind to ensure your safety while still having fun.

Things to note

While the theme park will open to annual and seasonal pass holders, it will only open at a 25% capacity to be in compliance with COVID-19 protocols. According to park officials, most rides will be operational but some attractions will have to remain closed in order to comply with health restrictions. Of course, we can also expect that visitors will be required to wear a mask (face covering) and maintain physical-distancing measures as well as have their temperatures checked before entering the park.

Visitors are also given hand sanitizers when boarding rides and rides are disinfected after every use.

It is also important to note that the theme parks are right now limited to California residents only and party size is limited to a maximum of three households and ten people.

Guests who purchased tickets prior to April 8, 2021 will need to make an advance reservation for their visit dates. Reservations can be made online now. - Universal Studios Hollywood

Note the following dates

April 14, 15, 19, 20 are currently closed. You can book for tickets for other days as long as there's availability.

Planning a trip to Universal Hollywood in 2021

First, you need to understand that your experience in previous years simply won't be the same anymore so being able to adapt and roll with the punches is going to be very important.

Second, you need to book your tickets in advance, if you haven't already. You can book it here. The park tickets sell out very fast so you want to lock in your spot as soon as possible. Visit the official website to learn more.

Also, you have to be a California resident to access the park right now. But regardless of all the new restrictions, you can still have fun as there are many things to do to keep you and your family/friends entertained.
