Tons of attractions compete for your attention on Las Vegas Blvd and they’re each fantastic in their own way. There are two particular areas that may be worth going out of your to visit. They're nice walking tours that highlight some beautiful scenery and artwork. Each can take under an hour if you're in a rush, or you could grab a drink, linger in the area, and take it all in.
(1) Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan: The Bellagio has an iconic outdoor fountain show. (Every half hour before 8pm and every 15 minutes after 8pm. Weekdays 3pm-12am. Weekends 12pm-12am.) The fountains are entertaining and worth a look, but more than that, they have aconservatory right past the front doors. It has some of the most amazing topiary displays, cultivated by some of the best in the world. You can except brilliant colors and tons of creativity. Then, one casino south of Bellagio is The Cosmopolitan. This casino is a canvas on its own. It’s got quirky art pieces scattered throughout and the majority are on the upper floors. The casino gaming is located on the ground floor, and from there you can see spectacular sights like the chandelier and the giant high heel. The chandelier is 44 feet tall and it's an amazing visual. The high heel is so big you can sit in it with three of your closest friends. It's one of the most photographed art pieces in Las Vegas.
(2) Wynn/Encore: After Steve Wynn created the outdoor Bellagio fountain show, he realized that those passing by weren’t necessarily entering the casino, so when he built the Wynn, he put the fountain show inside. If you go to the bar, Parasol Down, you’ll sit at an outdoor patio where you can see the show on the Lake of Dreams every half hour from 6pm-11:30pm. It's well worth a visit, and it's a much more intimate and quirky presentation than the Bellagio fountains. Wynn and Encore are also amazing to just walk around and view. There’s an impeccable attention to detail in the decor and there are random art pieces throughout. It’s a glamorous building and no expense was spared. Nothing in Las Vegas comes close to its exquisite design.
These are just two examples of a beautiful way to spend your afternoon or evening. They're great for tourists and locals alike. To those who are living in Las Vegas, sometimes you can overlook the magic, as it seems to be such a part of the every day. But these two spots make you remember why Vegas is such an amazing city.
