CHARLOTTE, NC – The first Carolina Haitian Food Festival is coming to showcase Haitian food, culture, and community to the City of Charlotte. The festival will be held this weekend on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
This festival will take place at International House, Central Avenue, and include many fun activities for kids such as balloon artists, arts & crafts, a bubble machine, and face painter. As for adults, there will be Couples Compas Dance Off and Dominoes Tournament at the festival. Carolina Haitian Food Festival will also feature DJ D-Red and a special performance from Manman Jr. for the live entertainments.
There will be some Haitian food trucks too that are participating in this event such as Bon Fritay Haitian Food Truck, Ms. Didi's Caribbean Kitchen, Kreyol Flavors, Caribbean Buzz. Other than food trucks, various Haitian-owned businesses and vendors will also be participating in this festival.
The admission fees of this festival are categorized into four different categories with the details below:
- Kids ages under 5: FREE
- Kids ages 6-12: $7
- General admission: $15
- VIP admission: $50
All tickets can be booked online at Eventbrite. There is also another way to participate in the festival without having to pay the admission fees, which is by joining the volunteer team. Due to the COVID-19, the festival will be held under strict health protocols. All visitors and participants are required to wear masks at all times (except when eating or drinking), wash and sanitize their hands, and maintaining social distancing.
