STATESVILLE, NC - Doosan Bobcat North America allocated $70 million to build a 600,000 square feet manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution centre as an addition to its current complex at Statesville.

The manufacturing company will be having nearly 1.2 million square feet and 62 acres in total after the expansion to the current 92-acre facility at 1293 Glenway Drive, Statesville.

The groundbreaking was held on July 27. Attended by government officials as well as community and business leaders of Statesville, the event also marks the beginning of the partnership between the Iredell EDC and Doosan Bobcat North America.

The partnership aims to give employment opportunities, economic growth, and community involvement, not only in Statesville but also in Iredell County and its surroundings.

The Statesville branch itself has been operating since 2008, focusing on manufacturing Doosan Portable Power and Bobcat products. The branch plans to offer 42 new jobs in its first two years after completion of the project, targetting up to 250 new jobs in its next five years.

"As the demand for our products continues to grow, this investment not only increases production capacity and enhances our network of manufacturing operations throughout North America, but it also positions us to support our growing business now and well into the future," said Doosan Bobcat North America President, Mike Ballweber.

Doosan Bobcat North America approximately has 4,500 employees in 13 facilities all over seven states in The United States. Doosan Bobcat North America is actively leading companies in engineering, manufacturing, and marketing of compact construction equipment, such as generators, air compressors, lighting systems, light compactions equipment, and attachments.
