Sussex County Man Killed While Hunting

A Sussex County man was shot and killed this past week in a hunting accident. Thirty-eight-year-old Jason Franco was a Hamburg policeman and a volunteer firefighter in Montague, New Jersey. He was deer hunting in a group when a minor in their group accidentally fired their shotgun, which ended up hitting Franco on Tuesday, December 7, striking and killing him. The minor was a family member of Francos.

Francos leaves behind a wife and two sons.
