85°C is a bakery located in Houston, Texas. You can find several locations but the location I'll be reviewing is at 9750 Bellaire Blvd #168, Houston, TX 77036 in the Sterling Plaza.

They are nestled next to 99 Ranch grocery store in the adjacent plaza. 99 Ranch is an international grocery store and if you haven't shopped there and you live in Houston, you definitely need to hit this place up. They have some awesome fresh ingredients that you can't get in other grocery stores and the food court has some really tasty food from some of my favorite restaurants, like La Crawfish.

If you're looking for a bakery that serves a variety of boba teas, milk tea, and assorted pastries then you'll definitely want to hit up 85°C.

In this review I'm going to share my experience eating at this bakery including details about the food, experience, and my overall impression. Let's get to it!

The Food and Drinks

Let's start with the drinks.

They have such an expansive menu. The first time I visited 85°C bakery, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out just what I wanted to drink.

My husband and I both got drinks and we ended up switching them in the car. I got a pudding drink and he got a taro smoothie. The pudding drink was lightly sweetened and it had big chunks of jelly at the bottom of the drink.

It's a similar experience to drinking a boba drink and I'm not fond of boba so that's probably why I wasn't a fan of this one. However, my husband absolutely loved it!

If you like to drink and chew at the same time like when you enjoy boba drinks then jelly drinks are something that you'll probably like. The taro smoothie was absolutely delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet. It had a gorgeous purple color.

It was smooth, refreshing and really good.

There are a ton of different flavors of milk tea and coffee drinks, too. You can get hot and cold drinks. The grapefruit green tea really caught my eye and they have drinks infused with rose and lavender. They all look super good.

Now onto the food.

As soon as you walk into the bakery, the right side of the shop is all bakery goods.

You’ll see a bunch of clear plastic cases filled with all your favorites from red bean buns to cupcakes, cheese danishes, breads, pastries and donuts. They also have cookies and a bunch of other delicious treats. You grab a tray and tongs, hit up your favorite pastry cases and grab everything you want, popping it on your tray.

Then when you’re done, you go to the checkout area where you pay. They also have gorgeous cakes like strawberry cake and black forest cake at the checkout station behind the glass case and you’re welcome to ask for that as well.

The Experience

I’ve had a great experience every time. The staff is friendly. There are a lot of treats and you don't feel overwhelmed at all the choices. It's actually a really fun experience.

The staff are helpful and explain how the tray and tong bakery rules work. You will enjoy it like I have.

The Prices

Everything is reasonably priced. You’ll find that the drinks are comparable pricing to Starbucks or maybe a little cheaper. It definitely does not break the bank and everything is totally worth it.

Overall Impression

I recommend you try 85°C bakery.

It’s a real experience. You will be delighted by all the different drink and food options they have and you really can’t go wrong with your choice.

Take your time with the menu to find something that you truly love. The staff will not rush you so you can definitely take your time to find your perfect drink and pastries. I rate 85°C an 8.5 out of 10. I’ve been here many times and I will continue to go.
