We're talking reasons why you should visit Houston! If you've never been here, you'll want to stop by some time. You'll have a really fun time.

If you're considering a vacation in Texas, check out Houston.

I only visited Houston once or twice before deciding that I wanted to move to this great City. Houston is the largest city in Texas and it's a super fun place to work and play. In this article we are going to go over 6 reasons why you should make Houston your next destination for travel. Keep reading.

The People

First, the people of Houston are so friendly, warm and welcoming. You won't have to worry about being greeted by rude people.

Everyone is smiling and it's super easy to see why.

You have gorgeous weather year round, you are close to the coast which means beach time and there are a ton of amenities and many things to do here. Food, fun, amenities, you can't go wrong!

The Attractions

Okay, so speaking of things to do, there are a ton of attractions and entertainment in the Greater Houston area. When you visit the area, of course you'll have Houston but then you'll be greeted by our neighboring cities and communities on the outskirts like Missouri City, Katy, Sugarland and others.

Many people work in Houston and they may live in the neighboring cities, choosing to live in the quiet suburbs instead of in the big city and just commuting to work.

But when it comes to attractions, there is so much to do in Houston. Museums, amusement parks, shopping, food, attractions, concerts and shows, and so much more.

This Big City really has it all. Here are some fun things to do in Houston on the weekend!

  • Concerts
  • Water parks
  • Shopping at the Galleria
  • Visiting local parks and going for a stroll or picnic
  • Clubs
  • Lounges
  • Hookah lounges
  • Relaxing in coffee shops
  • Going out to eat
  • Swimming
  • Playing mini golf
  • Playing billiards
  • And, more!

Affordability

Next, Houston is a pretty affordable place to live, work and play. If you're traveling here then your money can really take you far. Compare visiting New York City or Las Vegas or Miami or other places across the nation, you really get a good bang for your buck here.

The Food

Houston is like a huge melting pot. There are cultures here from around the world. You’ll enjoy food from Ethiopia, Columbia, Japan, Korea, Jamaica, and more.

But, even if you just want a big, juicy steak, there are plenty of restaurants to accommodate you. And, we’re in Texas, super close to Louisiana so there is a rich creole presence here. That means you’ll get a nice selection of different seafood to enjoy like crab legs, crawfish, different types of creole food, and a lot more.

Try it all when you visit!

The Weather

Texas has pretty nice weather year round. While Houston does have a rainy season, it’s pretty beautiful all year round. You’ll enjoy temperatures in the 70s to 80s for most of the year.

You won’t have to worry about frigid temperatures or snow, for the most part.

Multicultural

As I mentioned above, Houston is diverse. There are cultures from around the world here and I really love it. It’s actually much different from where I lived previously.

You’ll get the opportunity to learn about different cultures through visiting local attractions, eat different cuisines, and mix and mingle from people around the world in the greater Houston area.

All in all, Houston is a beautiful place to visit. Have you been here? What’s your favorite thing about Houston?
