What To Expect

The National Quilt Museum is both a Kentucky treasure and a national treasure. The museum sees visitors regularly from every continent and all 50 states. The commonality between all visitors? They marvel at the collection of contemporary quilts and thematic exhibitions in the 27,000-square-foot structure. Many are also delighted to see the traditional and non-traditional quilting methods are exhibited in the three galleries.

At any given time, the National Quilt Museum features more than 500 pieces of fiber art by internationally-renowned quilt artists. Inspired by the craft post-visit? Workshops are regularly taught by expert instructors (Hollis Chatelain, Sue Nickels and Victoria Findlay to name a few). Further, youth education programs - including the annual School Block Challenge and Quilt Camp - actively promote, uplift, and support the forthcoming generation of fiber artists.
