Combine two of the most innately southern ingredients - sweet tea and bourbon - and you have this delightful southern cocktail!
In anticipation of Derby Season, I have shared a tried-and-true Kentucky cocktail each day this week. Today's feature, my Bourbon Sweet Tea, is perfect for your Derby Party and all summer long! The best part? It's also one of the simplest cocktail recipes you'll ever see. Whether you are enjoying this at-home or before heading to the track during Kentucky Derby Week, it is sure to please!
Bourbon Sweet Tea Cocktail
JC’s note: you can absolutely make your own sweet tea for this. In my family, in true deep-south fashion, we make sweet tea syrup. That said, if you plan to pre-purchase sweet tea, buy a nice quality one (such as Milo’s).
Also, this cocktail is designed to be made in a large-batch pitcher – you can certainly scale it down if need be!
My Bourbon Sweet Tea Cocktail is best-served in a traditional Kentucky Derby glass or a Derby-branded glass. You can purchase the current Kentucky Derby glass online or at your local Kroger!
