After watching this video, you may think twice about getting out of your car to argue with fast-food employees. At least, that is what this North Carolina woman should have done right before her car rolled away into a ditch.
The video, posted by Tik Tok user southernspice82, and reported on by Sara Santora on Newsweek, has gone viral with over 5 million views and 428k “likes.” It shows the woman chasing her car into a ditch after she got out and left it in drive while she yelled at Chick-fil-A drive-thru employees and managers.
The video is filmed by a car behind the white sedan as it rolls away. An employee yells, "This is why we're concerned, ma'am!" after her as she chases down the runaway car through the parking lot and into the ditch.
Thankfully, someone suggests they call the police.
A follow-up video by southernspice82, shows the car in a ditch. According to WECT News, the woman was able to get back in the car but it crashed soon after. She was not injured in the crash.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirms they responded to the crash at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9. Family members of the woman said she “was charged with DWI, but not arrested. They questioned how she would have been able to get back inside a moving car if she had been impaired. They also said her blood alcohol level was .00. She was cited for failing a field sobriety test.”
One Tik Tok commenter wrote, "When she stepped out of the car to be a Karen, Karma stepped in and really said 'my pleasure.’"
