In this JEWISH FOOD TOUR of the LOWER EAST SIDE of New York City, we visit some historic family-owned Jewish food businesses including a Kosher Jewish bakery, a classic Jewish steakhouse and a recently opened but highly acclaimed Israeli-owned bakery. The Lower East Side of Manhattan had a huge large Jewish immigrant population in the early 1900s and was a major shopping destination We also stop in and speak with the Jewish owner of a long-standing menswear business and see interesting city street life and historic buildings in the Lower East Side along the way. Please note that Sammy's Roumanian Style Restaurant at 157 Chrystie Street New York, NY closed in December 2020 due to the pandemic.

We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City. In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
