Do you have a library card? Make sure that you connect it with Libby.
Libby gives you free access to thousands of audiobooks, e-books, magazines, and more after you’ve connected your library card to the app. The card that you obtain for free at the Cary library works seamlessly with Libby, and you can have access to all of the content on the app in minutes.
The best part is that all of this is completely free. There are no hidden fees, free trials, or credit card information required! Libby access is paid for by the library, which itself is a public service for residents.
More popular titles may have a waitlist (which you can join by pressing a button). Some titles can have waitlists for over a month, so you may have to be patient if you want to read new releases in this way. Once a title that you're on the waitlist for becomes available, you will be notified on the app, where you can then confirm the rental.
If you have a Kindle, some ebook rentals can be sent directly to your Kindle library so you can read them on your preferred device. This feature isn't available for all ebooks available (they have to be in a special format), but many of them do. You can filter your search to only include Kindle-capable titles if that's your jam.
Don’t have a library card yet? Visit the front desk at the Cary Regional Library during normal business hours and sign up! Make sure you have proof of residency (typically a driver’s license or a utility bill) available upon your arrival.
