Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation to host TAKE A HIKE® to explore Cleveland's neighborhoods on August 29

CLEVELAND, OH — The Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation will be hosting the TAKE A HIKE® or the Canal Basin Tour on August 29. This free 90-minute event offers an in-person walking tour of historic and unique neighborhoods in Cleveland.

In this tour, participants will meet on Sunday, August 29, at 10 a.m. at the Flat Iron Cafe, 11114 Center St, Cleveland, OH 44113. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early as the tour begins on time.

Since 2008, more than 38,000 people have participated in this tour. While in 2020, exploration was carried out independently by thousands of people.

In this interactive walking tour, participants will be led by guides who will explain interesting facts about the historical assets and important figures who helped make Cleveland such a special place.

In addition, attendees will also learn about architecture, historic preservation, cultural development, and Cleveland's role in American history.

The latest development projects will also be in the spotlight on this tour. Along the way, participants will also have the opportunity to meet important figures from Cleveland’s past, portrayed by actors and actresses who will share their stories.

TAKE A HIKE® is a program of the Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation and presented by Dollar Bank. This program has received full support from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, Ohio & Erie Canalway, and the Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
