EUCLID, OH - Recently, Notre Dame College President J. Michael Pressimone, Ed.D., has been selected to serve as a celebrity judge in South Euclid’s 2021 Rock the Block karaoke contest to select the winner of the contest on Saturday, August 21.
The South Euclid’s 2021 Rock the Block competition will take place at St. John Lutheran Church, 4386 Mayfield Road, on Friday, August 20, from 6-10 PM and Saturday, August 21, from 2-10 PM. The participants will sing popular songs in front of the judges.
On the final day of the contest, three finalists will compete for a $1,000 cash prize and title as the winners of this year's Rock the Block.
As part of the tradition, Rock the Block will hold a show featuring the winner of the annual karaoke contest at Black Forest tavern in South Euclid.
President Pressimone himself is a skilled singer and musician, having graduated from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He also gets his Master of Arts in Leadership in Higher Education degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and a doctorate in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
Pressimone who is skilled in playing baritone and guitar sometimes performs for Notre Dame campus activities. He also appeared in “Amélie”, a stage production based on the five-time Oscar®-nominated French film turned Broadway musical, as Raymond Dufayel, the titular character neighbor. The stage performance was held in Regina Auditorium on the Notre Dame College.
