The very first Hell's Kitchen in California will now be celebrated intimately. The Harrah's Resort Southern California in Valley Center, California in San Diego County will have a watch party on the night of September 13. At 8 pm the property will see its first cameo of the series on the show MasterChef on all of the Fox Networks. The episode is called Restaurant Takeover.
The free viewing party will be open to the public at 7:30 pm at The Courtyard which is the outdoor space for the resort. Several prizes will be given to various guests.
Gordon Ramsay has become a frequent visitor to California. He has taped several shows and series here and has fallen in love with the lifestyle and the cuisine.
Gordon has talked about his love of several restaurants but the one that is his go, especially after working out is In-N-Out Burger. He states that he loves to order a double-double animal style. When they find out it is him they like to give him extras and he unashamedly gobbles them up.
Of course, Gordon is not just hamburgers or fast food. As one of the most decorated chefs, he loves to cook quality ingredients that are done simply. Below is the simple but delicious Broccoli Soup by Gordon Ramsay.
Gordon Ramsay's Broccoli Soup:
-Water to taste
-Salt to taste
-Black pepper to taste
-2 heads of Broccoli very fresh
-Olive Oil To Taste optional, for garnish
Directions:
-Cut the florets off the heads of broccoli. Cut the stems into similarly sized pieces. Add all of the broccoli -- florets and stems -- into a pot of rapidly boiling, salted water (2 tablespoons salt in 5 quarts of water). Cover. Cook for 3.5 to 4 minutes.
-Using a slotted spoon, put the cooked broccoli pieces into a blender and save the water. Fill blender about halfway with cooking liquid. Blend carefully since it's hot. Add more cooking liquid as necessary to achieve the desired consistency. Check seasonings. It serves 4.
-If desired, add cheese (goat cheese cheddar cheese, or one of your favorites) to the bottom of the bowl before pouring the soup in. Serve, drizzled with olive oil if desired.
