One of the most underrated fairs in California is the Alameda County Fair. It is located at the Alameda County Fairgrounds at 2005 Valley Avenue, in Pleasanton, California. It runs from June 16 to July 9.
Concert Series:
Their concert series never disappoints. This year they feature LeAnn Rimes, E-40, Ashanti, Con Funk Shun, Quiet Riot, Night Ranger, and a host of other quality performers. The concert tickets do not include admission to the fair.
There are 3 levels of seating in the amphitheater and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Brew and Wine Fests:
The fair will have its popular wine and brew fests as well. The Brew Fest will feature approximately 19 breweries on Saturday, June 24, from 2-5 pm. They will also hold a Wine Fest with over 4 dozen wineries represented on Saturday, July 1, from 2-5 pm.
Horse Racing:
If you are into horse racing this is the place to be. They will hold horse races Friday-Sunday as well as on July 4. Attendance at the horse racing is free if you buy a ticket to the fair. They do have tickets available for those that want special seating.
Drones & Fireworks:
They have an interesting feature called Drones and Fireworks. You can view it in the grandstands and it’s free for the price of fair admission. At 9:30 pm during fireworks, a drone will fly throughout the park. (They will not have this attraction on July 4).
Of course, with all of these attractions, you will still get the County Fair activities. From fun rides, livestock, fair competitions, free entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and an incredible array of food, it's sure to be another great summer at the Alameda County Fair.
