Arguably the greatest rapper of all time will get his day in the spotlight.
Tupac Shakur will get a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood on June 7 which is 9 days before what would have been his 52nd birthday. It has been announced that his site Sekyiwa 'Set' Shakur, will accept the star on behalf of Tupac. Shakur will be added to the recording category and the ceremony will be streamed live exclusively at walkoffame.com from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm.

Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur died in 2016 of a cardiac arrest. His real father who had abandoned him when he was young, died in 1999, but not before trying to get half of Tupac’s estate which he failed to do in court.

His meteoric rise to fame and power in the hip-hop world is of legend, as well as his death in 1996. He was only 25 when he was shot in Las Vegas where he eventually died in a hospital His records have sold over 75 million copies and he is considered one of the most influential musical artists of all time.
Shakur also made his mark in movies and many felt his later life would include more mainstream parts. In 1992 he starred in Juice and in 1993 co-starred with Janet Jackson to make the cult classic Poetic Justice. His most memorable film is probably playing the gangster Birdie in the 1994 movie Above the Rim.
In 2002 Tupac Shakur was voted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame and in 2017 he was voted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. His greatest hits album which was released 2 years after his death is one of only 9 hip-hop albums in history that earned the Diamond certification.
