Iconic NFL QuarterbackTom Brady has agreed to a deal that will make him a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
It still has to get league approval but most feel that is a bygone item and this will easily be approved.
This is the second time Tom Brady has made a deal with Mark Davis to own a team. In March of this year, Brady bought a minority stake in the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA.
A Come Back?:
In 2022 Tom Brady approached another team about buying into ownership. A deal was attempted to bring Tom Brady out of retirement so he could be part owner and also play for the Miami Dolphins. Later the NFL penalized the Dolphins for improper communication with a player that was still under contract with another team. Some have said that already Brady has been thinking of coming back into the NFL to play, and as a part owner for the Raiders, this may also be talked about.
In an HBO special, Tom Brady talked about a deal that would have allowed him to sign with the Raiders but then coach John Gruden nixed it deciding to go with Derek Carr at the time. Derek Carr has since moved on to New Orleans.
According to several news outlets, Brady has been in discussion with the Raiders and Davis for weeks. When asked about the deal at the time, neither Tom Brady, his agent, nor Mark Davis would comment.
There is no word on how much of an ownership he has but if it’s 1% then it would be 40-60 million.
It is also unaware at this time if Brady becoming a minority owner would hurt his deal with Fox. He signed a 10-year $375 million deal to join Fox in broadcasting when he retired.
