There had been no news about his whereabouts or what happened to him for several weeks. In a heartfelt post, his wife Natasha Yi said this it didn’t look like JV was coming home.
He was a popular DJ since the 90s and worked at the San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9. His morning show "The Doghouse" was one of the most listened-to shows in San Francisco radio history. The Radio station had done a tribute show and was very supportive of fans and families alike through the entire tragedy. Fans poured onto social media hoping for a miracle that somehow he would be found alright but it was not to be. He disappeared on February 23rd at 10 pm in San Francisco and was never seen again.
JV was very open about his struggles with his mental & physical health. In 2021 he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. He often talked about “brain fog” dizziness and severe migraines. He also had bouts of suicidal thoughts. He told his audience that doctors had offered experimental treatments but with no real sure solutions.
Here is information on Lyme Disease from the CDC website. https://www.cdc.gov/lyme/index.html
They explain that if Lyme disease goes untreated or a diagnosis is delayed, it can produce a wide range of symptoms, depending on the stage of infection. These include fever, rash, facial paralysis, and arthritis. It also can spread to different parts of the body and wreak havoc on muscles and the nervous system.
