San Francisco New Years Eve Fireworks is back! Past View from a Drone & List of Things to do in the SF Bay area

The party is back!

San Francisco will renew their annual New Year's Eve fireworks show at midnight to welcome in the new year. Last year's fireworks were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. With so many struggling in the last couple of years, many are hopeful that 2023 will be a special year for everyone. They are expecting around 200,000 people to be at the celebration.

The site suggests that One of the best spots to watch fireworks over San Francisco is the waterfront area south of the Ferry Building near Pier 14. The fireworks will be synced to music from the speakers along the Embarcadero between Mission St. and Folsom St.

The site sanfran.com (link below) also suggests that another great spot to watch the fireworks is at Treasure Island or Yerba Buena Island which has some of the best views.

As for the city of San Francisco, several restaurants have rooftop dining for a more romantic and picturesque view of the display. There are still some rooms in nearby hotels you can see on the rove.me website. You will need a heavy wallet because the restaurants and hotels are very pricey, especially for the new years celebration. Some of the local cruises offer dinner dances.

In a scene out of a reality show, Gwyneth Paltrow is angering a lot of people with her courtroom antics during her trial. In 2016 Paltrow was involved in a skiing accident at Utah’s Deer Valley Resort. Retired optometrist Terry Sanderson is suing her for $300,000.00 for running into him which left him with a "permanent traumatic brain injury, four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life," along with emotional distress and disfigurement, according to the lawsuit. His physician confirmed the claims and his daughters have testified that he has greatly changed after the accident.

Man Who Abandoned Dog & Was Caught on Video is Arrested by Dallas Police

The Dallas Police Department's Animal Cruelty Unit arrested Ramiro Zuniga, 41, for cruelty to non-livestock animals. Zuniga was caught on video abandoning their young family dog on the 9000 block of Teagarden Road in Dallas. In the video, the dog wagged its tail and followed the owner's vehicle almost getting hit by a passing car. Thankfully the friendly, young German Shepherd was caught with only a small leg injury due to the ordeal. Authorities are taking care of it.
