Accused Idaho murderer Bryan Kohberger allegedly posted cryptic SoundCloud rap 11 years ago
Bryan Kohberger, who is accused of the University of Idaho killings, called himself a "demon" in a troubling rap song that he allegedly posted online.
The artist reflects toward the end of "Rise up instrumental- test," a song posted on SoundCloud 11 years ago under the username "Exarr," "You are not my equal / You are wicked but I'm devil."
Internet sleuths noted the account is identified as belonging to a Bryan in Effort, Pennsylvania, the alleged killer's hometown, following Kohberger's arrest for the Nov. 13 stabbing deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.
"Exarr" also corresponds to the email Kohberger is said to have used to post enigmatic messages on online forums around the same time
The voice allegedly belonging to Kohberger "raps" in the song, "the same thing that interrupts my existence" and how "I'm stuck in the future but I'm never lookin' at the f—kin' present."
The amateur rapper says, "End your life you get no sequel / Leave your loved ones crying like some seagulls," during one especially disturbing line.
The concluding lines threaten, "Don't f—k with us." "You undervalue,"
Listeners have compared the song's depressing lyrics to the graphic facts of Kohberger's alleged crimes in the week following his deportation from Pennsylvania to Idaho.
One SoundCloud user responded to the song by writing, "Bro is certainly saying he's got difficulties."
“The lyrics sound as though he’s predicting his future [sic],” another wrote.
The gloomy rap also makes reference to Kohberger's alleged written posts on the mental health community Tapatalk about his battles with depression and visual snow syndrome, a neurological ailment where the sufferer's vision is blurred by static.
In 2011, when he was 16, he reportedly wrote, "Nothing I do is fun."
Kohberger was a criminology PhD candidate at Washington State University in Pullman at the time of his arrest, which was only 10 miles away from the crime scene. He earlier expressed his desire to work with "high-profile offenders" to a childhood friend.
On January 12, he had a brief hearing in Latah County court, where he waived his right to a prompt preliminary hearing while maintaining an expression of indifference.
On June 26, he is scheduled to be back in court.
