Go Healthy Houston's local Farmer Markets

HOUSTON, TX — Go Healthy Houston's Get Moving Houston Farmers Market aims to provide easier access to cheap but high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables in Houston neighborhoods.

The Farmers Market also focuses on food desert areas with products that come from local farmers. This year is their 10th annual farmers market.

Fruits and vegetables are essential to prevent or delay chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Fruits and vegetables also help humans stay healthy and recover from light sicknesses such as flu and dry skin.

The market is part of Go Healthy Houston's efforts to reduce the community's food insecurities, lower obesity rates, malnutrition-related chronic disease, and reinforce the community's health and local economies.

The Get Moving Houston Farmers Market will be available from May to September 2021 on various dates and locations, start from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

The details for the markets are as follows:

1. Acres Homes Multi-Service Center at 6719 W. Montgomery Road Houston.

This location will host the farmers market on May 27, June 24, July 29, August 26, and September 23, 2021.

2. Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center at 6402 Market St. Houston.

This location will host the farmers market on May 4, June 8, July 6, August 3, and September 7, 2021.

3. Hiram Clarke Farmers Market at 3810 W. Fuqua St. Houston.

This location will host the farmers market only on July 21, 2021.

4. Magnolia Farmers Market at 7037 Capitol St. Houston.

This location will host the farmers market on May 20, June 17, July 22, August 19, September 16, and 30, 2021.

5. Northeast Farmers Market at 9720 Spaulding Street Houston.

This location will host the farmers market on May 18, June 15, July 13, August 17, and September 21, 2021.

6. Southwest Farmers Market at 6400 High Star Dr. Houston.

This location will host the farmers market on May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11 and 25, September 8, and 22, 2021.

7. Sunnyside Farmers Market 9314 Cullen Blvd. Houston

This location will host the farmers market on May 6, June 3, July 15, August 5, and September 2, 2021.
