HOUSTON, TX — The University of Houston Downtown (UHD) extended its freshmen application deadline for fall 2021. Application is open starting from May 26 to June 23.
Freshman students are applicants who are or soon will be, high school graduates, GED recipients or home school graduates. Freshman applicants must have fewer than 15 college-level credit hours earned.
In addition, home schooled students will be evaluated for admission on the same basis as students from public and other private high schools. As for students who have got Credit by Examination (AP/CLEP/IB), they should submit official scores to UHD.

However, due to COVID-19, UHD will temporarily perform a test optional policy for the SAT/ACT score requirement for freshman applicants until further notice. Students can submit their SAT and/or ACT scores with their application if they want. but UHD will also consider applications from students who do not submit their test scores.
Freshman students have to go through several steps to apply for admission. First, they need to apply online at www.applytexas.org, then submit Official High School Transcripts in institution's sealed envelope. UHD complies with House Bill 3826.
The next step is to pay non-refundable $50 application fee. Then, freshman students have to submit official SAT or ACT scores. The College Board SAT school code for UHD is 6922 and the ACT school code for UHD is 4170.
Freshman students also can track their application status at https://www.uhd.edu/admissions/Pages/admissions-status.aspx.
Meanwhile, all transcripts that students sent to UHD must be official. The official transcript must include the school's official seal, the signature of the school official, student's class rank and size and high school coursework.
