Wanting some amazing Italian food? There are some great choices right here in Spokane. Here are the best of the best.
In July of 2010, Chef Anna Vogel and Operations Manager Bethe Bowman opened Italia Trattoria, a lively, regionally inspired, 50 seat Italian restaurant in historic Browne's Addition just west of downtown Spokane. One of the best dishes is the polenta lasagna which features cremini mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onions, fontina cheese, and tomato basil butter. The menu is extensive here and even has a brunch menu. The only potential issue for customers is the kid's menu only features spaghetti.
Went here for our anniversary during COVID, the first we've been out to eat in months. It was incredible! Our waitress was adorable and knowledgeable, the Red Margarita was delicious, and the food... oh man, the food was incredible. We got the squid ink fettuccine and the lamb t bone and I was so sad when I demolished the entire thing and there wasn't any more to eat. Katie L.
This restaurant is located in the historic Old City Hall building across from Riverfront Park. Tavolàta is all about the pasta. All of the pasta is made fresh daily, from rigatoni to ravioli, spaghetti to linguine. The spaghetti is very unique in that it has anchovy, garlic, chili, mint, parmesan or tomato & basil. You can add chicken or pork meatballs for an additional cost. For an appetizer, consider the grain shed baguette which is made with butter, olive Oil, aged balsamic vinegar, and roasted garlic.
Excellent new Italian place downtown Spokane across from the park. Happy Hour is amazing!
We had the Gnocchi, Spaghetti with Meatballs, and Rigatoni. All were delicious and large portions. For starters the Bruschetta is a must!!
Service is outstanding as well. Tiff R.
The Italian Kitchen is locally owned and operated. The restaurant features a beautiful and charming decor, as well as exquisite, authentic Italian cuisine. The spicy sausage gnocchi is one of their most popular dishes and comes with loads of baked mozzarella cheese on top. If you'd like something totally different, you can get the I.K. Gourmet Mac And Cheese. It includes three cheeses, bacon, home made croutons and a special seasoning. It's a unique and one of a kind dish that will make you rethink how you view macaroni and cheese forever.
Italian Kitchen is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Spokane. It is an extra special treat because the drive takes 1.5hrs each way. I am picky about Italian restaurants--not just any marinara will do. Italian Kitchen's is wonderful. I ordered the Spicy Sausage Gnocchi, and both the gnocchi and sausage were delicious! I loved the baked mozzarella on top. It was definitely spicy as it promised. I am not one for spicy food, but this was *just* not too spicy. I loved the dish and would order it again in a heartbeat. (And extra water!) If you are in Spokane, I highly recommend trying this downtown Italian gem! Kristin B.
