Beef in Abundance at The Gettysburger Company

Burgers are one of the culinary worlds’ best canvases for creativity with their handheld capabilities allowing for an endless variety of toppings and fusion possibilities. The Gettysburger Company in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is one local burger innovator that features a wide variety of handheld American cuisine classics. 

As the name implies, burgers are plentiful at Gettysburger, each a nice half pound formed fresh unless otherwise listed and served with choice of chips and cole slaw or sidewinder fries. One classic with extra crunch that stands out right away is the All American burger with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and mayo on Texas toast. 

Another personal favorite is the 1863 burger, which comes topped with a crab cake and cheddar cheese on a triple decker sesame seed bun, which is in turn on top of a bed of Old Bay-seasoned sidewinder fries. The harmony of savory and seafood saltiness is absolutely phenomenal. 

For those with big appetites, the Broadway Bully is a massive creation, featuring two of the half pound burger patties, six full pieces of Kunzler brand bacon, American cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon jam, lettuce, and tomatoes on a pretzel bun. Likewise, the namesake Gettysburger also features two burger patties, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and G-Burg sauce on a triple decker sesame seed bun. 

Of note for fans of chicken, any burger on the menu can be substituted with grilled or crispy chicken, in addition to the chicken portion of the menu itself. One must-try for any first-time diner for sure not in the mood for beef is the Gettysbird, which features lettuce, pickles, onions, and the signature G-Burg sauce on Brioche for that soft and perfect finish.
