Any time a menu promises food that is all hand-made at a restaurant, good things are sure to come. At 007 Chinese Food in Hamburg, New York, the dim sum is always hand-made and the flavor truly speaks for itself. The southtowns really have a gem here, and calling it right now, 007 is going to be huge this summer.
When the menu says the best dim sum in town, that is quite a statement, and wow is it accurate. The shumai was revelatory, perfectly tender and packed with savory good flavor each bite. The same goes for their rich and tasty chicken dumplings, which come in servings of six an order.
The fried dim sum menu is truly excellent too, like the phat htoke, which comes fried up golden and crispy in a choice of shrimp or pork and shrimp varieties. For the perfect appetizer to share, make sure to try the crab rangoon with crab and cream cheese for a creamy and crispy taste delight.
For those newer to dim sum, you are not alone. One diner at our table was not familiar at all with dim sum, but tried a new dish and found the Lo Mai Fan on the special dim sum portion of the menu delightful. The sticky rice with chicken dish was very accessible to a beginner’s pallet, highlighted by the incredible taste melody of herbal and savory, a for sure recommendation for any first-timer.
Also on the special dim sum menu are the bowls: eggplant and pork rib. For fans of tiny pork ribs, the pork rib bowl is truly one of a kind for the area. Featuring miniature bone-in spare ribs, sliced peppers, and a delicious pork broth for dipping the side of white rice, and phat htoke dumplings, the pork rib bowl is sure to fill any diner up.
Make absolutely sure to try the amazing bubble teas at 007 too. These are not your mall cafeteria bubble teas, these are top of the line, handcrafted with care and superb attention to detail. There are at least three different kinds of boba pearls in each tea, including tapioca, fruit, and a unique flavor burst pearl that really adds a nice pop.
