There is no comparison to the hearty smoke and crisp flavor of hickory smoked BBQ. Al-E-Oops in Lancaster, New York, is doing some amazing things with hickory BBQ, so much so that the smell in the air outside alone is probably enough to draw one in.

The ribs are the most iconic offering, available in five different seafood combos, or on their own with coleslaw and choice of potato. Charred to perfection and slathered generously in more amazing sauce, the ribs are the perfect balance of smoky and moist and make not upgrading to a full rack for only seven dollars hard to resist.

The other BBQ plates at Al-E-Oops all come standard with coleslaw, beans, and potato of choice to complement the meats. The smoked turkey platter, hickory house smoked ham, and BBQ chicken all hover in the under twenty bucks’ range and all deliver in the flavor department. A personal favorite is the pulled pork, which is so sweet and tangy it simply melts in one’s mouth.

Burgers and BBQ sandwiches are always a great choice too, like the western burger with sauteed mushrooms, onions, BBQ sauce, and American. The original pulled pork sandwich is excellent, and also available in Carolina-style with coleslaw and melted cheese on top. The BBQ pulled chicken really delivers on the zing with the sauce accompaniment too.

The Chef’s Signatures are not to be missed either, like the incredible rib eye steak dinner or captain’s platter with fresh boiled haddock, sea scallops, steamed shrimp, and clams casino. While the BBQ is a main attraction, any of the brilliant seafood dishes come highly recommended at Al-E-Oops as well.
