The Little Christmas

Little tree;
little money.
All in all;
it’s pretty funny.

No presents.
No snow.
Off to grandmother’s house
we go . . . . No!

Red is the prevalent color.
So festive and bright.
I’m being a child
hoping for Santa tonight.

My kids are grown
but still here at home.
I can almost hear
when Christmas was near
their happiness and cheer
when presents were seen
under the tree that was so dear.

No presents this year
though there is a lot of love.
Seems that is the best present of all.

So I raise my glass of cheer
in this warm atmosphere.
Merry Christmas to all
in hopes of a better year.

I usually write about a lot of subject matter from my own personal life to animal behavior. Everything in between. I have been writing for over two years but have always been a writer and avid reader. I lived in Atlanta, GA for sixty years then moved to South Florida and it was a huge change for me. I write truth as I see it in hopes it will help others.
