A new restaurant is coming to the city of Akron.
After starting as a home-based business, Breakfast in Bed is getting ready to open its own brick-and-mortar location in Akron. The upcoming restaurant is a venture from owner-chef LaCole Suddeth.
At the new restaurant, you can, of course, expect to see breakfast foods. As a home-based business and a pop-up around Akron, Breakfast in Bed has offered items like steak omelets (which also come with collard greens, grape tomatoes, and cheese); croissant sandwiches with steak, egg, cheese, and bacon; and fish and grits.
One of Breakfast in Bed's signature items is the French toast biscuit, which Suddeth started making when she was a nursing assistant. A patient asked for French toast, but since toast wasn't available, Suddeth decided to improvise by using biscuits instead. And thus, the French toast biscuit was born.
In addition, the restaurant has offered veggie omelets, shrimp and grits, fish sandwiches, pancakes, traditional biscuits, and turkey bacon, most of which you will likely see at the new brick-and-mortar location.
Breakfast In Bed has earned rave reviews in the past, something that the restaurant hopes to continue at the new location. Here is what a customer had to say in a past Google review:
This spot is truly a hidden gem! I heard a few people say how delicious it was so I had to give it a try. I had the steak, egg, & cheese croissant with bacon, homefries, grits, & added a piece of fish. My friend had the fish, bacon, & egg croissant with homefries. Everything was absolutely AMAZING! Portions are huge, food was perfectly seasoned, & croissant was one of THEE softest I've ever tasted. The owner was very nice & got our food out to us promptly, & what makes it even better is the prices are very affordable! Breakfast in Bed is a newer establishment but with the right marketing & decor, this place has the potential to be THEE BEST BREAKFAST SPOT in the Akron/Cleveland area! Needless to say, I'LL BE BACK!

No opening date for the new location has been announced yet, but in a Facebook post on May 15, the restaurant said it was "coming soon to Highland Square area."
