The city of Delaware has a new sandwich shop.
In February of this year, NYC Deli Mart opened its doors in Delaware. As the name of the place would suggest, NYC Deli Mart aims to serve New York-style sandwiches.
For breakfast, they offer sandwiches that can be served on rolls, bagels (options include plain, raisin, and everything), white bread, or wheat bread. You can have a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. They also offer sausage, egg, and cheese; NYC trios, which come with bacon, sausage, turkey ham, egg, and cheese; NYC BLTs, which in addition to bacon, lettuce, and tomato, come with avocado and cheese; ham, egg, and cheese; and just egg and cheese.
Later in the day, you can get hot sandwiches like Philly cheesesteaks (which come with grilled onions, green peppers, mayo, and American cheese), chicken bacon ranch subs, hot pastrami sandwiches (which come with fried onions, Swiss cheese, and mustard), gyros, and chop cheese, which is made with ground beef, grilled onions, green peppers, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and ketchup.
Also on the menu are cold subs (check out the Big Boy, which has oven-roasted turkey, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, red onion, provolone cheese, mustard, and mayo), quesadillas, and burgers (check out the NYC burger, which comes with two beef patties, bacon, mixed cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onion, avocado, and chipotle sauce).
Do you have room for dessert? NYC Deli Mart offers cheesecake, Oreo cake, tiramisu cake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, lemon cake, caramel cake, and red velvet cake.
In its first few months of operation, the sandwich shop has earned great reviews from locals. Here is what a customer wrote in a Google review:
Nice clean place. I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub - highly recommend! The wife got the Gyro and it had a slight smoked flavor that was very unique and delicious! Daughter got a Turkey sub that was also quite good. Definitely give this place a try!
Here is what another customer had to say:
Spent a year in Suffern, NY and we made our way to a few deli marts. This definitely reminds me of those times. The food is amazing! Well cooked and you can tell they care about the end result! Introduced my daughter to part of my 20s she never would've experienced otherwise. Will definitely be making stops here often!!
If you want to check out the new deli, you can find it at 38 S Sandusky St, Delaware, OH 43015.
The deli is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 10 PM. It is closed on Sunday.
