This popular restaurant chain is opening a location in Avon

The city of Avon is getting a new restaurant on April 5.

BIBIBOP Asian Grill is a popular restaurant chain that is known for its customizable bowls that are inspired by bibimbap, which is a Korean rice dish.

And now the chain has finally set a grand opening date of April 5 for its new Avon location after several delays.

The restaurant is located at French Creek - a shopping plaza in Avon - and will open its doors at 11 AM on April 5 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned at 10:30 AM.

Throughout the day, BIBIBOP will be offering giveaways to celebrate the grand opening. The first 50 customers to show up in the restaurant will receive 52 vouchers for complimentary BIBIBOP bowls (in other words, free BIBIBOP for a year).

If you show up wearing orange, you'll get $5 off your meal. You can also get $5 off your meal if you sign up for the restaurant's app and for a BIBIBOP Rewards account.

Furthermore, if you're a firefighter, police officer, medical professional, or educator, you'll be eligible to receive a free meal on opening day.

For a build-your-own bowl at BIBIBOP, you begin with a base. Base options include salad, sweet potato noodles, purple rice, white rice, and cauliflower rice.

Then you choose your protein. Options include steak, chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, and vegetables.

Then you can add any of these hot toppings to your bowl: black beans, bean sprouts, potatoes, and roasted sesame broccoli.

After that, you can add any of these cold toppings to your bowl: corn, carrots, cheese, cucumber, eggs, kimchi, pickled red cabbage, and sesame kale.

Finally, you choose one or two of these sauces: yum yum, teriyaki, gochujang, spicy sriracha, sesame ginger, sesame oil, and ginger teriyaki.

Their menu also has several curated bowl options if you don't feel like building your own bowl.

If you have room for a little dessert, BIBIBOP typically offers chewy chocolate toffee cookies and coconut milk pudding with mango. In addition to your standard soft drinks, the restaurant offers lemonade made with cane sugar, sweetened green tea, black currant black tea, mixed berry omija tea, and passionfruit lemonade.
