Gahanna is getting a new fried chicken place.
Hot Chicken Takeover is a growing chain that started in Columbus, Ohio and that aims to serve Ohioans Nashville-style hot chicken.
After opening several locations in the state, Hot Chicken Takeover is planning to open one in the suburb of Gahanna.
On April 4 and 5, there will be an in-store sneak peek where a limited number of customers will be able to meet the team and receive a complimentary entrée.
Also on April 5, from 5 PM to 8 PM, customers will be able to purchase an entrée, side, and beverage for $5, and all proceeds will go to support Gahanna Lincoln High School.
Finally, on April 6, the location is planning to have its grand opening. Doors open at 11 AM. The first 50 people who show up will get a swag bag, and there will be other prize giveaways throughout the day.

Hot Chicken Takeover's menu features chicken tenders, thighs, drumsticks, wings, boneless breasts, and sandwiches. All meals are served with complimentary bread, pickles, and house-made ranch. For those who don't eat meat, the restaurant also offers plant-based nuggets which come with vegan house-made ranch.
Their chicken comes in 4 different heat levels. For those who don't like spice, they have a "cold" level (which doesn't refer to the temperature of the food). For those who want some spice, they have a "warm" level, which Hot Chicken Takeover says is spicier than most mediums. Then for those who are looking for Nashville-style chicken, there's the "hot" level. And for those who really want to challenge their taste-buds, there is the "holy" level, which is much hotter than "hot."
As for sides, the restaurant offers fries, mac and cheese, vinegar slaw, and sweet and smoky baked beans. If you have room for some dessert, check out the banana pudding or deep fried waffles topped with powdered sugar. And if you're looking for something to quench your thirst, Hot Chicken Takeover has sweet tea (unsweetened tea is also available) and Boylan's natural soda.
