A new restaurant has opened in Kent

A new restaurant has come to Kent's food scene.

Huế Bánh Mì & Phở Cafe, a takeout restaurant that opened at the end of February, is aiming to provide customers with a variety of authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Featured in the photo above are summer rolls, which are rice paper rolls stuffed with pork, shrimp, rice noodles, cucumber, lettuce, and mint. They come with peanut sauce on the side (a peanut-free sauce is also available). The summer rolls are among the new restaurant's appetizers.

The restaurant is also offering other appetizers such as fried spring rolls (these are filled with pork, mung bean noodles, jicama, carrots, and mushrooms and come with your choice of fish sauce or sweet chili sauce on the side), steamed pork buns, and steamed bao buns (which are filled with pickled vegetables, fresh vegetables, and your choice of BBQ pork, pulled pork, or BBQ chicken).

The menu also has, of course, banh mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich that comes on a toasted baguette and is filled with cucumber, cilantro, pickled daikon and carrots, jalapeño, and mayonnaise plus your choice of protein. If you're looking for the most authentic banh mi, get the special, which has three kinds of Vietnamese pork cold cuts and pate. They're also offering sandwiches with grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled pork sausage, lemongrass chicken, lemongrass beef, Vietnamese meatballs, char siu pork, pork floss, char siu pork with pork floss, or BBQ pulled pork.

And one must not forget about the pho. Their pho features a hearty beef soup. You can't go wrong with the pho dac biet, which comes with thin slices of beef eye round, beef tripe, brisket, tendons, and beef meatballs.

In addition to pho and banh mi, the restaurant serves other Vietnamese dishes like Vietnamese-style beef stew, crepes, vermicelli, and rice with a grilled lemongrass pork chop.

If you want something to drink, Huế Bánh Mì & Phở Cafe has a variety of bubble teas (they have both milk and dairy-free teas) and Vietnamese coffee, which can be served hot or iced, black or with condensed milk.

Are you saving room for dessert? Depending on availability, you can find sweet treats like these:

Huế Bánh Mì & Phở Cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

If you want to check it out, the restaurant is located at 1665 E Main St Suite 300, Kent, OH 44240.
