3 Places To Get Bagels in the Cleveland Area

Isla Chiu

Are you craving a good bagel?

Instead of hitting up a big chain like Panera or Bruegger's Bagels, you should consider visiting one of these local businesses in the Cleveland area.

Bialy's Bagels

If you're on the east side, you should check out this bagel shop in University Heights. Bialy's has been around for decades, and when you try one of their bagels, you'll see why. Their bagels are huge and baked fresh, and come in a variety of flavors ranging from plain and blueberry to smoked sea salt rosemary and apple cinnamon. The mish mosh bagel - Bialy's take on the everything bagel - is highly recommended by customers.

Bialy's Bagels is located at 2267 Warrensville Center Rd, University Heights, OH 44118.

D&R Bagels

Located in Solon, D&R serves hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels that are made in-store. They have a large selection, ranging from savory flavors like jalapeno and sesame to sweet flavors like chocolate chip and cinnamon crunch. You can also get a breakfast sandwich made with their bagels. You can choose from fillings like egg, bacon, sausage, corned beef, and chicken. D&R's omelets are also delicious, and are all served with a bagel and hash browns.

D&R Bagels is located at 33567 Aurora Rd, Solon, OH 44139.

The Cleveland Bagel Company

The Cleveland Bagel Company is arguably Cleveland's most well-known locally-owned bagel shop, and when you try one of their chewy and delicious bagels, it's not hard to see why. The everything and rosemary sea salt bagels are customer favorites, and getting their bagels with one of their cream cheese spreads ("schmears") is a must. Two schmears that come highly recommended are brie honey walnut and cheddar chive. And if you don't eat dairy, the shop has a vegan schmear.

If you're on the west side, the Cleveland Bagel Company has a location at 4201 Detroit Ave,
Cleveland, OH 44113. If you're on the east side, there's a shop located at 7501 Carnegie Ave,
Cleveland, OH 44103.
